Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards

(MEES) 2018 – Band ‘E’

Since 1st April 2018 there is a requirement for any properties rented out in the private rented sector to have a minimum Energy Performance Certificate rating of an ‘E’.

Ensure your property is 100% lawful and meets the minimum Energy Performance Rating of E (EPC).
Avoid penalties of up to £4000 for properties in breach of the new standards

LA FLEX SCHEME

Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Help to Heat flexible eligibility, obligated energy suppliers will be able to use the ‘local authority flexible eligibility’ mechanism for up to 25% of their ECO Affordable Warmth obligation by installing energy saving measures in premises that have been declared eligible by local authorities.
